The commitment of FuturED with the education and climate at COP29

London, 28 October 2024 - The 29th UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP29), to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11-22 November 2024, will feature global leaders, including Juan Francisco Dávila y Verdin, FRSA, founder and director of FuturED. Recognised for his innovative work in education and social entrepreneurship, Dávila y Verdín comes to the summit with a unique approach: bringing together education and sustainability as key tools to combat climate change.

At FuturED we seek to train the next generation of leaders in sustainability, technology and environmental responsibility. Through our catalogue in English and Spanish, we offer training that emphasises the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on climate change. During COP29, Juan Dávila y Verdín will highlight the urgency of integrating climate education into global education systems in order to empower young people to make informed and responsible decisions. Their participation in this event underlines the intersection between education and climate action, and their vision of a world where knowledge is the key to solving the climate crisis.
COP29 will be a key forum for international climate change negotiations, where governments, non-governmental organisations, businesses and experts will debate and make decisions on how to move forward with the implementation of the Paris Agreement and other global climate change initiatives. COP29 is part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
