PRINCESS CHARLENE OF MONACO AND JUAN DÁVILA Y VERDIN HIGHLIGHT THE TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT THAT RUGBY HAVE IN THE LIVES OF GIRLS AND WOMEN

Monte-Carlo, 23 April 2024 – Last weekend, the Founder and Managing Director of FuturED, Juan Dávila y Verdin, FRSA, informally met HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco during the 12th Monaco Rugby Sainte Dévote Tournament, an international event for children from twenty-one countries organised by the Monegasque Rugby Federation in collaboration with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

During the conversation, Mr Dávila y Verdin and the Princess of Monaco spoke about the positive transformative impact that sport has in the lives of girls and women.

In 2022, FuturED and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation signed an agreement to the development of a project for the promotion of female rugby in Argentina, by supporting three female rugby teams: Cha-Roga in the province of Santa Fe, Taborín in the province of Córdoba, and Pumai in the province of Mendoza.

The initiative directly impacts eighty girls and young women, while indirectly impact over more than 300 girls from children and juvenile categories and their families.

Since the project has the double nature of also supporting the education and career development of the players, Princess Charlene was very interested in knowing more about the progress made recently.

At the end of the meeting, Mr Dávila y Verdin offered as a gift to the princess the t-shirt of Cha-Roga, of the three teams participating in the program.
